Vembanad Lake

Vembanad, also known as Punnamada is the longest lake in India, as well as the largest lake in the state of Kerala. With an area of 2033 square kilometers and a maximum length of 96.5 km, it is the second largest Ramsar site in India only after the Sunderbans in West Bengal.

Kumarakom

Kumarakom,situated 13 Kms away from Kottayam is a sleepy little village on VembanadLake. It offers wide variety of flora, exotic sightseeing. The bird sanctuary spread across 14 acres is safe home for many migratory birds like Siberian stork, wild duck.

Kurishumala

Kurishumala is this Christian pilgrim centre where hundreds of devotees converge, to climb the hill in faith, carrying small wooden crosses. The peaceful Monastry at the top of the hill, the silence,the cool mountain air and the lush green landscape are all soothing.
